After 14 years, the Philippine government has lifted the ban on overseas travel for Filipino au pairs.
The Philippine government has recently granted permission to all Filipino au pairs aged between 18 and 30, unmarried and without children to travel to Europe again.
Especially host families looking for an English-speaking au pair will benefit from this decision. As English is the second official language in the Philippines, most of the au pairs speak the world language.
In 1998 the Philippine government had banned citizens of the Philippines from leaving the country to travel to Europe and work as au pairs. In 2010, though, Filipino au pairs have already been allowed to travel to Norway, Denmark and Switzerland.
