What exactly is the Family Handbook?

The Handbook is an interactive PDF document that lets you collect all the important information that a new au pair needs to get off to a good start as part of your family team.

Following the prompts in the Handbook, you fill in the relevant information for your own family situation in sections such as:

• Safety
• Behaviour and Discipline
• Food and Meal Preparation

This brings together all the critical information a new au pair needs to fulfil her role in your family and find a comfortable place in her new community.

When the entries have been made, it's simple to print out your own professionally formatted Family Handbook – a highly useful reference resource and a great part of a welcome package for an incoming au pair!

The Handbook then serves as a comprehensive orientation guide for your au pair. It helps especially in the first critical weeks of an au pair stay to give your new au pair the information she (or he) needs to do her job well and to feel at home quickly in her new surroundings.
