Fifty millionth message sent

The beginning of 2011 was also very exciting for AuPairWorld! In the first few months of the year, we will not only celebrate our one millionth user. (You will find out more about this topic in a few weeks time). We, only recently, received the fifty millionth standard message sent through AuPairWorld!

The historical click was made on 6 January 2011 at 8:09 p.m. and 42 seconds sharp. It was a standard message sent by a German host family targeted at a Hungarian au pair. To be more precise, it was a positive mail: the host family showed interest in the girl. Aupair Word was curious and wished to find out more: unfortunately, there was no happy ending for the fifty millionth message in this constellation, as the au pair had already chosen a different host family as her personal favourite. However, this is one of the advantages AuPairWorld presents to it's users: everybody can choose his/her host family or au pair according to his/her own preferences.

And as our fifty millionth message shows how active our users are in their exchange of messages, we wish to present you with some more statistical details: on average, all users at AuPairWorld send out 20,000 to 25,000 messages per day. This means that each month 600,000 to 700,000 messages are sent out through our site into the world. Evenings are prime-time for all communication: often more than 2,400 messages are exchanged on a worldwide basis every hour. Taken from a stastical point of view, every 1.5 seconds an application is sent out through AuPairWorld at that time.
